COVID-19 UPDATE-
June 8, 2020
Greetings FUSIONEERS & FUSIONISTAS!!!
This is lengthy, but of utmost importance in our ability to reopen safely and within the parameters of the governing boards of our profession.
We hope this finds you and your family in good health. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: Fusion’s commitment to your safety and wellness. By its very nature, massage and bodywork requires skin-to-skin contact and you should be familiar with the fact that infection control has always been a top priority for our establishment. As we navigate life with additional requirements and modify existing measures due to the coronavirus, please help us to support all of our guests by cooperating with our new requirements.
FUSION follows practice guidelines recommended by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB), along with infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Maryland Board of Massage Therapy Examiners (under the medical board) , the Maryland State Board of Cosmetology and the association who handles our practitioner insurance for our therapists.
You will notice some changes when it is time for your next appointment.
We have integrated these changes to help protect our guests and their families, our therapists and their families and the entirety of our community.
The following will give you an idea of what to expect when you return to FUSION
-
FUSION will communicate with you beforehand to obtain updates to your health information and ask you specifically about your recent travel and potential exposure to COVID-19.
-
When you arrive and park, we ask that you wait in your vehicle and message the FUSION phone until your practitioner responds that the space is ready for you to enter. This ensures that we have cleared the space of the previous guest and that the space has been completely cleaned and sanitized between appointments.
-
Your practitioner will greet you outside the door for a contactless temperature check and require you to have a clean mask on and sanitize hands.
-
Please bring a clean face mask to use while you are in the building and during your appointment. It must remain on during the entire time you are in our space including your entire treatment. Your practitioner will also wear a mask and gloves for the entire treatment and when necessary a face shield for certain treatments. Only disposable towels will be used in treatments and in the lavatories.
-
Please only bring basic necessities into the space when you arrive ie keys, phone and method of payment. Do not bring large wallets, bags, backpacks, knapsacks, take out food leftovers etc.
NO ADDITIONAL HUMANS WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE SPACE WITH YOU FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT so please leave friends, spouses, and children at home during your service.
-
Before entering, your practitioner will confirm if you have developed any symptoms of illness since we spoke or messaged on the phone in the days before your appointment.
IF YOU FEEL ILL on the day of your session please notify us as soon as possible to reschedule and DO NOT COME IN, there is NO PENALTY FOR RESCHEDULING YOUR APPOINTMENT. We WILL NOT conduct appointments if you are presenting with ANY SYMPTOMS OF POSSIBLE COLD, FLU, OR UPPER RESPIRATORY ILLNESS.
-
Massage and spa treatments are always contraindicated when you have any symptoms of illness and we will be especially strict on screening those who enter our space until a vaccine is developed or the virus has been eradicated. Please be respectful that we are following the rules for the safety of all of our guests and practitioners and the families thereof in mind...
Please be honest WITH YOURSELF AND FUSION if you need to reschedule and we kindly request of you to please do not make it awkward.
-
If you have not already done so before your appointment (we will send forms digitally ahead of your appointment) we will ask you to fill out and sign updated health intake forms as well as informed consent and waiver forms that state you understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection from COVID-19. By signing this form, you acknowledge that you are aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive treatment from FUSION and your practitioner.
-
All appointments must be scheduled in advance by phone or by messaging the FUSION phone line at (410)857-3863.
Online booking has been disabled indefinitely as we have to schedule 30 minute cleaning and sanitization timeblocks between appointments.
-
You will notice changes to decor in the treatment rooms as we have removed any superfluous decor and surfaces to make the sanitizing between guests more efficient. We will not be providing post treatment hot towels until further notice.
.
CONTACTLESS PAYMENT-
Fusion will be utilizing contactless payment for all services.
-
CASH or CHECK - If you plan to pay by cash or check please make out the check ahead of time and bring only the amount of cash as your practitioner will be unable to make change for cash. We will leave an envelope on the table in the dressing area for you to put your cash or check into. We will check out all cash and check services at the end of our day once we have finished all clients for the day.
-
CREDIT OR DEBIT-Please log into your Vagaro Client account ahead of your appointment to update the card on file that you would like to use in your account. You can then either prepay the service from the app or you can let your practitioner know to process the service. If you wish to leave gratuity, let your practitioner know to add it before the charge is processed. Please have these accounts set up prior to arriving so as to not linger in the space. All transactions will be inside the treatment room with limited movement to other areas of the spa.
For FACIALS and MASSAGE-
-
In Stage Two our boards and professional associations we follow have stated face massage is not allowed as this would require the removal of the clients face mask which the wearing of during the entire treatment has been mandated. Face massage and facials will not be resumed until our boards and associations have deemed us able to resume these treatments once again, safely and with certainty.
-
Your practitioner will give you hand sanitizer once you have disrobed and they re-enter the treatment room before beginning the service.
-
You will also find hand sanitizer in the dressing area and in the lavatory for you to use as needed.
As we resume operations for massage and then eventually facials, sessions will only be restricted to 1 hour (60 minutes) in length and with limits on how many guests we will see per day until things relax in late stage 3.
Anyone with following conditions is recommended to avoid massage and spa treatments until we're fully into Stage3 :
-

FUSION apologizes for any inconvenience these policies and protocols may cause you, however there are many 'behind the scenes' requirements we are mandated to follow. Any exposure to just one positive covid case will require us to close/quarantine and not be able to serve anyone in our FUSION Family. Please, use your best judgement when planning your appointment.
We have missed everyone so very much and look forward to seeing you all again soon!!!
We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps FUSION is taking to keep you, and every client, safe in our care.
Our orders for PPE and the restocking of supplies and products have been made and as soon as we have dates for them to ship/arrive here, we will update you via facebook and our website.
We will be slowly combing through the lists and contacting everyone who missed appointments during quarantine and those who have reached out recently as we have information on when we will be able to begin accepting appointments for waxings and brow/lash services.
Facials and Massage are tentatively scheduled to resume Mid July.

Hi there Friends of Fusion!!
We are happy to see that the Governor has moved our state forward into the early parts of Phase One of Reopening!! While this moves us closer to seeing you all again soon, Phase One only encompasses Hair Services in Licensed Hair Salons. This order EXCLUDES Massage Therapy, all Aesthetic Services (ie waxing and brow/lash tinting, facials, makeup body wraps, etc) Nail Services, Tanning Services, Lash Extension Services, and Tattoo Services. We will continue to follow the progress of our state and of the new cdc, osha and the TWO state boards that we fall under for reopening guidelines and will keep you updated on information as it becomes available.
Hang in there Friends!! Be Safe, Be Smart, Be Light and Be Love!
Fondly-
Crickett, Tori, & Brianna

Hi Fusionistas and Fusioneers!!
As we continue to navigate all of the info from our State and the CDC, the TWO State Boards that oversee our services which we provide and our Practitioner's Insurance Companies rulings for when it will be safe to reopen our space to the public and what that will look like, please know that we are MISSING YOU DEEPLY but your health and the health of our practitioners and the families is OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.
At present the deliberations for when spa services and massage therapy can resume have not reached a firm decision, however, the word in the industry looks to be that we will fall into Phase 3 (or possibly late Phase 2 with a number of protective measures in place). We will make decisions for our studio when a firm decision is made.
Please be advised that we do not perform hair services in our studio and thus we are not able to perform hair services for essential military, police, fire and first responders as declared permitted by appointment with a letter from employer as declared by the governor earlier this month.
We will continue to stay up to date on the deliberations for spa services and will keep you informed as we have updates from our boards. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the other side of this!!!
Be Light, Be Love, Be Well!!
Fondly-
Crickett, Tori, & Brianna
